Planning Commission Meeting Meeting minutes June 5, 2024 7:00 pm Opening Business Meeting started at 7:45 pm Welcome The meeting commenced with a welcome given by Nathan Washer, Chairman of the Planning Commission. Present at Meeting: Planning Commissioners Nathan Washer, Conner Lunt, and Jesse Carter, Town Council Representative Rachel Goates. Meeting Recorders Chantal Rowley and Christine Carrigan. Also present: Robert Shepherd, Holly Thomas, Alexa Greenhalgh, Tyler Shepherd, Nick Childs, Carol Bennett, Taylor and Taelyn Squire, Bret and Deana Ballow, Judy Smith Prayer A prayer was offered by Conner Lunt. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all attendees and led by Nathan Washer. Discussion Items Conditional Use Building Permit – Taylor & Taelyn Squire The Planning Commission discussed a conditional use building permit request by Taylor and Taelyn Squire. The discussion centered around issues considered a flag lot, conditional use requirements, road frontage, utility responsibilities, and the necessary conditions to authorize the permit, including a driveway, a turnaround for emergency vehicles, and potentially setting up a fire hydrant. Building Permit – Shane and Holly Thomas A discussion was held about submitting a building permit request from Shane and Holly Thomas. Their discussion primarily reviewed their proposed plot map and existing water meter. A conditional setup for an eventual transfer of water meter permits will come from subsequent town council hearings. The transfer of existing water meters to the new property was also discussed. Action Items Approval of Past Minutes The minutes from the April 3, 2024, Regular Planning Meeting were reviewed. A motion was made to "approve the minutes from April 3, 2024." The motion was proposed by Conner Lunt and seconded by Jesse Carter. All in favor. The motion carried. Reports Office-issued Permits Reports were given regarding recently issued permits, which included: Fence – Julie Anderson Fence – TJ. Carter Re-Roof – Richard Carle Re-Roof – Ron Harper Re-Roof – Amelia Jeffs Re-Roof – Shaylyn and Brandon Craig Public Comments During Public Comments, various residents expressed their concerns including questions about permit approval processes and details of previously submitted building permits. Adjourn A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Jesse Carter and seconded by Conner Lunt. All in favor. The motion carried, and the meeting was officially adjourned.
