Councilmember Jesse Richmond arrived at 7:30 pm. Councilmember Bruce Rowley was unable to attend. Town Staff present: Town Clerk Elizabeth Hone and Treasurer Stephanie Wood. Others present: None Welcome: Mayor Corey Christensen opened the meeting and welcomed all present at 7:15 PM. Mayor Christensen offered the prayer. Approval of Minutes: Town Council Work Session – June 3, 2021 Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Taryn Brooks, to approve the Town Council Work Session minutes dated June 3, 2021. All council members present were in favor. Motion approved. Discussion Items: 1. FY 2022 Budget – Utility Funds: The council went through the tentative budget for the water, electric, gas, and cable/internet funds. g Questions were asked and answered for clarification. After going through the tentative budgets and making a few changes, the council felt that more information was needed to finalize rates. The utility fund budgets will be continued at the next budget work session. 2. Park Use Rates and Rules – Members of the council mentioned that they felt the need to address the park use rates and rules in the near future to see what needed to change with the changes and additions coming to the town park. Growth Area District -Mayor Corey Christensen reported to the council that Nephi City Manager Seth Atkinson had met with him to discuss the Growth Area Districts in the county. Seth was asking for Levan’s support in sending a letter to Juab County Planning Commission asking them to not approve subdivisions in the Grown Area Districts in the county. These subdivisions which are so close to city and town boundaries create real problems for the cities or towns they flank. Council members told of situations they knew of where this was the case. Councilmember Taryn Brooks made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Ray Evans, to join with Nephi City and other cities in the county that felt the same in working with the county to set up some guidelines for this situation.
