Councilmember Jesse Richmond was absent. Town Staff present: Town Clerk Elizabeth Hone, Deputy Clerk Heather Poulsen, Treasurer Stephanie Wood, and Utilities Supervisor Jason Worwood. Others present: None Welcome: Mayor Corey Christensen opened the meeting and welcomed all present at 7:02 PM. Mayor Christensen then offered the prayer. Approval of Minutes: None Discussion Items: 1. CDBG Fund project suggestions: Deputy Clerk Heather Poulsen discussed the need for water and what should be required when someone wants to build in town. The rules would probably be different for single lots and subdivisions. An engine and an attorney would need to be involved to figure this out. The council was given information about the critical need for water in the town by Utilities supervisor Jason Worwood. They agreed that this need was the town’s top priority and should be the focus for any funding opportunities. Jason explained the Equivalent Residential Connect (ERC). Levan has 338 plus the park and cemetery which are the equivalent of 42 households. This means our need is 442 gallons/min per house. If we filled up the possibilities in Levan, we would be at 714 gallons/min. We are currently at 350 gallons/min. Jason said that we need more water to prepare for this growth and we need to do something pretty quickly. He said that ½ of Levan residents would probably never own irrigation shares. After listening and some discussion about the current need, the council was in agreement that we should apply for a CDBG grant this funding cycle only if we find water. 2. Jason also asked for suggestions on the wording of a letter to the Levan Irrigation Company. Adjournment: Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Taryn Brooks, to adjourn. All members present were in favor. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm. __________________________________ Elizabeth Hone, Town Clerk Levan Town Council Work Session November 22, 2021 Page 2 of 2
