RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS; MINUTES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEWISBURG, OHIO, REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AT 7:00 P.M., MAY 16, 2024, AT THE LEWISBURG COMMUNITY CENTER. The regular meeting of the Village of Lewisburg, Ohio Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Dennis Roberts. ROLL CALL: Eliza Wagoner, Clerk of Council. PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Roberts, Council Members Marla Colville-Brown, Barb Foster, Mary Nelson, Lori Pheanis, Jackie Sewert, and Ted Thies. Also present were Municipal Manager Jeff Sewert, Fire & EMS Chief B.J. Sewert, and Law Director Steve Hobbs. Police Chief Rick McGee and Fiscal Officer Susan Laux were absent. Cora was awarded the $500 Lewisburg Emergency Unit/Simone Hobbs Memorial Scholarship. Paula Givens shared a handout on Adult Use Cannabis and shared information on the subject. MAYOR: None. LEGAL: 3RD READING (Read by Mary Nelson): ORDINANCE AMENDING PART ELEVEN OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEWISBURG. Motion to adopt Ordinance No. 2024-05: ORDINANCE AMENDING PART ELEVEN OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEWISBURG. First by Mary Nelson. Second by Ted Thies. Roll Call Vote: 7 Yes 0 No. Motion approved. 1ST READING (Read by Mary Nelson): ORDINANCE DECLARING FIFTEEN AIR PACKS AND FIFTEEN AIR CYLINDERS OBSOLETE OR UNFIT FOR USE BY THE VILLAGE OF LEWISBURG. Mary Nelson stated that in Section 2. Montgomery County Joint Vocational School needed to be corrected to Miami Valley Career Technology Center. 1 Motion to waive the three-reading rule. Manager Sewert gave updates on the public hearings earlier today on electric aggregation, meeting with engineer regarding possible crosswalk lighting/signage in downtown, National Police Week, several grants, and fixing storm pipe on Clay Street. SAFETY: Motion to accept Randy Anderson’s resignation from his full-time position as Firefighter/Paramedic, effective June 1, 2024. First by Ted Thies. Second by Marla Colville-Brown.
