PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Tuesday – October 20, 2020 – 6:30 PM 2801 Ranch Road 1869 – Liberty Hill CALL TO ORDER The Liberty Hill City Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by Chairperson Wes Griffin on Tuesday – October 20, 2020 at the Liberty Hill Learning and Event Center. Invocation was given followed by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Pledge. Quorum was established. Planning and Zoning Commission members present were as follows: Wes Griffin, Cheryl New, Steve Messana, Josh McGinty, and Steve McIntosh. REGULAR AGENDA Discuss and Consider approval of minutes from the regular Planning & Zoning Commission meeting held October 6, 2020. OUTCOME: On motion by Josh McGinty and second by Steve Messana, the Commission approved the minutes from October 6, 2020. Motion passed on vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions. A proposed text amendment to Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Liberty Hill (the Unified Development Code, or UDC) to provide for a new zoning classification, the Mixed Use, or MU zoning classification. David Stallworth, Senior Director of Planning addressed the Commission stating Council wants to discuss and take action on the edited version of the MU classification he submitted previously to Planning and Zoning. Following lengthy deliberation, the Commissioners voiced their concerns that they had not had sufficient time to review and consider the revised document. OUTCOME: On motion by Steve Messana and second by Josh McGinty, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted to approve the original text amendment which provides for a new MU zoning classification, unedited, the which was presented to them October 15th by David Stallworth. Motion passed on vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions. ADJOURNMENT OUTCOME: On motion by Steve Messana and second by Josh McGinty, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM.
