PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, May 9th, 2018
Planning Commission Members Present: Phil Folyer, Jesse Fox, Gary W. Green, Stan
Jochim, Charles Matthews, and Jared Von Tobel
Adjunct Member(s) Present: Jamie Baird
Absent: Tom Sahlberg, Richard Siler
Staff Present: Lisa Key, Tait Hunter
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m.
Roll Call: A quorum of members was present.
Review of Agenda:
April 11th minutes were approved.
Lisa Key clarified that minutes would be made available to commissioners as well as be made
available online.
Citizens Comments:
None were made at this time.
Unfinished / New Business:
No new or unfinished business at this time.
Planning Commissioner Reports:
No reports at this time.
Action Items/ Discussions Presentations:
Recommendation to Amend the City of Liberty Lake Planning Commission Bylaws,
Section C, Paragraph 3(a):
The commissioners discussed the pros and cons associated with having residents
outside of the City holding commission positions. A motion was made to table the
discussion until a later date.

2018 Comprehensive Plan & Development Code Amendment Requests:
Lisa gave an overview of the three private code amendment requests that were received
as part of the annual Comprehensive Plan and Code Amendment application process.
Kevin Schneidmiller was initially intended to present the items as applicant, however he
was late to the meeting, so Lisa Key started the discussion. Kevin was able to attend
later on and took part in the discussion.
The commission discussed briefly the information, including potential road blocks with
amending the code. Kevin answered questions from the commission.
Lisa stated that a draft of the proposed text for the amendment requests would be
workshopped at the Planning Commission meeting on June 13th, and that tentatively, the
hearing before the Planning Commission would be scheduled for July 11th.
