CITY OF LIBERTY LAKE Community Engagement Workshop Minutes March 8th, 2023– 6:00 PM CALL TO ORDER: The meeting of the Community Engagement Commission was called to order on March 8th, 2023 at 6:00 PM. ROLL CALL: Position 1: Robin Bekkedahl Present Position 7: Vacant Position 2: Bill Norman Excused Position 8: Vacant Position 3: Jennifer Kosaka Present Position 9: Mark Saba Present Position 4: Summer Darrow Present Communications Specialist David Goehner Position 5: Cynthia Godinez Present Administrative Assistant Tait Hunter Position 6: Aaron Asmus Present APPROVALS: Commissioner Saba motioned to excuse Commissioner Norman from the workshop. Commissioner Asmus seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Commissioner Saba motioned for item 3B to be moved to the following main commission meeting on March 15th, 2023. Commissioner Asmus seconded the motion, which then carried unanimously. CITY HALL UPDATES: A. Mailer - The commission discussed various aspects of sending out a mailer to the community. They discussed the overall aesthetic goal of the mailer, specifically noting that it should be eye-catching and something the com- munity would want to hold on to. The commission further discussed details such as the size of the mailer, as well as the logo that would/ could be used to help the mailer stand out more in the average citizen’s mail pile. - Mark McAvoy, City Administrator, questioned where the funds for this mailer would be coming from as the commission’s 2023 funds have already been tentatively allocated for the ZenCity software. Commissioner Sa- ba requested that Mark speak with Mayor Kaminskas to see what the possibility of funding would be. - It was decided that further discussion will take place at the next meeting, which will include a proposed fund- ing source as recommended by Mark McAvoy. B. 2023 Plans/ Projects - Moved to the March 15th, 2023 meeting, per the motion made at the beginning of the meeting. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, and with unanimous approval, the workshop adjourned at approximately 6:45 PM.

The Commission’s role is to gather ideas, input, and feedback from community members, and to advise and guide city leadership. Under Governor Inslee’s “Washington Ready” plan, members of the public may attend meetings in person at City Hall at the address provided above, or via Zoom at the link below.
