THE CITY OF LIBERTY LAKE PARKS & ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES MARCH 21ST, 2018 - 4:00 PM CALL TO ORDER: Jennifer Camp, Maintenance & Operations Director for the City of Liberty Lake, called the meeting of the Parks and Arts Commission to order at 4:00 PM on March 21st, 2018. ROLL CALL: Commissioner David Himebaugh- Late, Excused Commissioner Laina Schutz Commissioner Laura Frank Commissioner Bridgette Harris Commissioner Tom Chamberlain Adjunct Bob Schneidmiller - Excused Commissioner Jeanette Nall- Absent Maintenance & Operations Director Jennifer Camp Commissioner Tom Sahlberg Administrative Assistant Tait Hunter AGENDA: Minutes from the March 7th Parks & Arts Commission meeting were approved at 4:00 PM. The members of the commission discussed the future of art within the city and more community events, bouncing ideas off of each other as well as the new youth members of the commission. Orchard Park was discussed as well, with the commission going over the potential for it to be smaller than initially thought due to updated costs versus available funds for the project. It was stated by Jennifer Camp that more about Orchard Park would be determined in April at future Council Meetings. Jennifer Camp briefly discussed with the commissioners that the fees for the rental of parks and facilities within the City were decided by the City. It was brought up by Commissioner Sahlberg that perhaps there should be thought put into having a sub committee for fees so that the commission can better focus on large matters during meetings. It was also brought up that a modest increase in fees could help fund more park additions and events. CITIZEN COMMENTS: Council Member Kennedy was in attendance and chose to speak during the comment period. He briefly thanked the commission and the youth commissioners for dedicating their time to the Parks & Arts Commis- sion, and reminded them that keeping the citizens in mind would be their best bet overall going forward. MEETING ADJOURNMENT: At 5:10 PM, the meeting concluded.
