THE CITY OF LIBERTY LAKE PARKS & ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 19th, 2018 - 4:00 PM CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Laina Schutz called the meeting of the Parks and Arts Commission to order at 4:01 PM on September 19th, 2018. ROLL CALL: Commissioner David Himebaugh Commissioner Laina Schutz Commissioner Laura Frank Commissioner Bridgette Harris Excused Commissioner Tom Chamberlain Adjunct Anita Eylar Commissioner Tom Sahlberg Adjunct Bob Schneidmiller Unexcused Commissioner Tom Stanley Maintenance & Operations Director Jennifer Camp Administrative Assistant Tait Hunter Student Commissioner Caleb Betts Excused Student Commissioner Katelyn Hansen Excused Student Commissioner Natalia Alva Unexcused APPROVALS: The minutes from the September 5th meeting were approved. STAFF REPORT: Jennifer Camp briefly updated the commissioners on recent media activity regarding the commission and recreation in the City. She also updated the commissioners on the status of the budget submittal. NEW & UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The commission approved the STCU sponsored artwork for an upcoming wrap. Commissioner Sahlberg presented a draft of an art brochure for the commission. PRESENTATIONS & ACTION ITEMS: Pamela Mogen, Library Director, presented the story book walk update to the commission. She presented the top 5 children’s books that the members of the library staff had narrowed down for the first art walk project. The commission briefly went over the discussion from the previous night’s City Council Meeting. They further discussed planning for presenting the 5 year budget plan at the next Council Meeting. The commission approved the current 5 year plan to be presented at the next Council Meeting. RJ Stevenson, Financial Director, presented information regarding the Public Records Act. CITIZEN COMMENTS: No citizen comments were made at this meeting, MEETING ADJOURNMENT: The meeting concluded at 5:08 PM
