THE CITY OF LIBERTY LAKE
PARKS & ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 3RD, 2018 - 4:00 PM
CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Laina Schutz called the meeting of the Parks and Arts Commission to order at 4:00 PM on
October 3rd, 2018.

APPROVALS:
The minutes from the September 19th meeting were approved.
STAFF REPORT:
Jennifer Camp briefly updated the commissioners on the previous evening’s City Council meeting, wherein
the five year plan was presented.
She continued on to update the commission on the status of Orchard Park and presented photos of the
progress to the commissioners.
NEW & UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Commissioner Laura Frank gave a brief update regarding the wraps for Pavillion.
The final draft for the five year plan and its amendments were discussed. The commissioners further
discussed the conversation had regarding the five year plan at the previous night’s City Council meeting.
The Call to Artists form approval was postponed until the next October meeting.
The commissioners discussed the approach for funding potential artists, as well as how to handle sponsors
going forward.
PRESENTATIONS & ACTION ITEMS:
Commissioner Tom Chamberlain presented his findings on potential sculpture and mold artists.
Commissioner David Himebaugh presented a photo of a potential sculpture donation to the commission, and
the commission proceeded to discuss potential locations for the sculpture.
PRESENTATIONS & ACTION ITEMS CONTINUED:
The commissioners moved on to discuss the story walk project, its funding, and potential locations.
CITIZEN COMMENTS:
No citizen comments were made at this meeting,

The meeting concluded at 5:00 PM
