THE CITY OF LIBERTY LAKE PARKS & ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES JUNE 19TH, 2019 - 4:00 PM CALL TO ORDER: Chair Laina Schutz called the meeting of the Parks and Arts Commission to order at 4:02 PM on June 19th, 2019. ROLL CALL: Commissioner David Himebaugh Commissioner Laina Schutz Commissioner Laura Frank Commissioner Bridgette Harris Commissioner Tom Chamberlain Excused Adjunct Bob Schneidmiller Excused Commissioner Tom Sahlberg Excused Adjunct Kate Laven Commissioner Tom Stanley Maintenance & Operations Director Jennifer Camp Student Commissioner Caleb Betts Unexcused Activities & Events Maintenance Worker Anita Eylar Student Commissioner Katelyn Hansen Unexcused Administrative Assistant Tait Hunter APPROVALS: Commissioner Himebaugh moved to approve the minutes from both the May 15th meeting and the June 5th meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Frank, and was approved unanimously. CITIZEN COMMENTS: No comments were made at this meeting. STAFF REPORT: Jennifer Camp, Operations & Maintenance Director, provided a detailed staff update to the present commissioners. The update included the Vickrey Loan Agreement, and discussion took place regarding the continued wrap project. NEW & UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The commission discussed the potential for wraps at the new pickleball courts at Orchard Park. They also discussed the grand opening, which would have the donated trash cans ready for kids to paint. ACTION ITEMS/ PRESENTATIONS/ GENERAL DISCUSSION: Discussion took place regarding the Story Walk Project, the Rotary Donation, and the 2020 Strategic Plan. There have been changes in price regarding the paint on the podiums for the Story Walk Project. After brief deliberation, the commission has decided to look more into moving funds within the budget, and will seek approval from Council before making any final decisions on that specific avenue. The commission discussed and voted on the final location for 3 of the 4 wraps. The motion for the finalization of placement was made by Commissioner Frank, seconded by Commissioner Harris, and carried unanimously overall. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business or discussion, the meeting adjourned at 5:06 PM.
