Fire Commission Meeting Minutes February 11, 2013, 5:45 PM. Fire Station Call to Order at 5:45 PM. Present: President Carl Peeters, Secretary Pat Nikolay, Commission Members Bill Verhagen, Dick Schevers, and Scott Schommer. Also present was Chief Mark Janssen. Secretary’s Report November 12, 2012 meeting minutes were reviewed and filed as written. Old Business Classes for new hires began on January 8, 2013. It was hoped that the classes would be held at the Little Chute Fire Station in order that the new hires would become familiar with our equipment. It is necessary to have 12 men to run a class at a site. The date necessary to have 12 men signed up is usually a week before the class starts. However, the deadline was moved to December 18th, which was when the person in charge of the class went on vacation. At that time, there were only 9 local men signed up. By the time Jon Brockman was able to reach anyone in authority at FVTC, it was too late to have the class in Little Chute, and therefore is currently being held in Neenah through Fox Valley Technical College. There are currently 25 men in the class. It was decided that a letter of protest will be sent by the Commission to the person in charge of the class, asking that the 12 men from the Little Chute area be allowed to take the remainder of the class in Little Chute. New Business The terms of Carl Peeters and Pat Nikolay are up this year (2013). Both would like to be re- appointed to their positions. There has been some fine tuning to the Little Chute Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s). The clarifications are mainly in the area of technology. Any pictures taken with cell phone and cameras at the scene of a fire will become the property of the Little Chute Fire Department. Adjourn at 6:00 PM. Next Meeting: May 13, 2013
