Fire Commission Meeting Minutes February 10, 2014, 5:45 PM. Fire Station Call to Order at 5:45 PM. Present: President Carl Peeters, Secretary Pat Nikolay, Commission Members Bill Verhagen, Dick Schevers, Scott Schommer. Also present was Chief Mark Janssen. Secretary’s Report November 14, 2013 minutes were reviewed and filed as written. Old Business No old business New Business  Grants – Fire Chief Janssen spoke about two grants that have currently been written. o Replacement of the 1988 75’ aerial ladder with a 100’ platform ladder, cost to be just under $1 million. o Microgrant to replace some helmets.  Scott Schommer – current term is 2011 – 2014. Scott would like to continue on the Fire Commission.  Personnel Issue – One of the current firefighters has not been showing up to meetings or fires for about the past six months. His Lieutenant has spoken with him and told him to contact the Fire Chief, which he did not do. Fire Chief Janssen will make contact with this firefighter and will bring his recommendation to the Commission in May.
