Fox Valley Metro Police Department Police Commission Meeting Minutes November 8, 2011 Present: Chuck Rundquist, President Mark Van Thiel, Vice President Bill Van Berkel, Secretary Scott Schommer Laurie Verhagen Excused: Kerry Ruhnke Guest: Chief Erik Misselt, FVMPD President Chuck Rundquist called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call was taken and one member of the commission was excused, Kerry Ruhnke. All other commission members were present. Scott Schommer arrived to the meeting at 6:05 p.m. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Mark Van Thiel, seconded by Laurie Verhagen, to approve the minutes of the September 13, 2011 meeting of the Commission. Approved by voice vote, 3-0. Public Appearances to Address the Police Commission None Chief’s Report Chief Misselt informed the commission of Officer Parsons’ resignation at the beginning of October 2011. The commission was also advised of the budget approvals from all three village boards and the delays involving the annexation of Kimberly High School. Chief Misselt went over the progression of the department’s remodeling project as well as the order for the new squad cars. Commission President Communications None The next police commission meeting will be determined at a later date due to the interview schedule for officer candidates. Adjournment A motion to adjourn at 6:31 p.m. was made by Van Thiel, seconded by Scott Schommer. Approved by voice vote, 4-0.
