Fox Valley Metro Police Department Police Commission Meeting Minutes November 21, 2017 Present: Chuck Rundquist, President Bill Van Berkel, Secretary Scott Schommer Kerry Ruhnke Excused: Mark Van Thiel Laurie Verhagen Guest: Interim Chief Scott Lund, FVMPD Russ Van Gompel The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. roll call was taken. Laurie Verhagen and Mark Van Thiel were excused from the meeting. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Kerry Ruhnke to approve the minutes from the October 10, 2017 meeting, and Scott Schommer seconded the motion. The motion carried (3-0). Public Appearances to Address the Police Commission None Chief’s Report None Closed Session A motion was made by Scott Schommer and seconded by Kerry Ruhnke to adjourn to closed session. The motion carried (3 – 0). Kerry Ruhnke made a motion to come out of closed session, and it was seconded by Scott Schommer. The motion carried (3 – 0). Action from Closed Session Kerry Ruhnke made a motion to accept the proposal from Integrated Public Resources for police chief recruitment. With the revised estimated schedule, the application deadline will be January 15, 2018 with interviews the week of February 19, 2018, and a finalist identified by February 28, 2018. Bill Van Berkel seconded the motion. (Carried 3 – 0) Commission President Communications None. The next Police Commission meeting is scheduled for December 12, 2017.
