Gloudemans, seconded by J. Schultz to Approve Minutes from the Utility Commission of February 19, 2019 All Ayes – Motion Carried Recommendation—MS4 Annual Report with Resolution Director Taylor gave a presentation on the Annual Report Under Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. Moved by K. Coffey, seconded by T. Wegand to recommend the Village Board approve the MS4 Annual Report with Resolution as presented All Ayes – Motion Carried Progress Reports MCO Operations Update Jerry Verstegen, MCO gave updates for ongoing projects and repairs. Director of Public Works Director Taylor went over the sanitary and storm sewer issues and the various flooding in the area. Finance Director Director Remiker-DeWall went over the storm, water and sewer February Statements. Director Remiker- DeWall went over the initial auditor findings and advised they will be back in the middle of April. A question was asked if more residents are signing up for automatic payment or online payments. Director Remiker-DeWall feels another push would be good. Approval of Vouchers Moved by J. There was a broken ring on structure spotted by local utility contractor that was reported to the Village. This was a significant find due to high water levels and structure position in ditch line. Engineering Installed information: • Private contractor installed 1 Sanitary Manhole. Storm Sewer Street Notes: • Crews were consistently out opening storm water inlets and basins. • Scott took care of erosion control inspections. • Sweeper has reappeared on the schedule for routine sweeping hoping to clean the curb lines before debris enters storm system. Storm Ponds Street Notes: • Monitored storm ponds and cleaned trash racks. • 3/14/19 – Found that the vertical lift pump at the industrial pond is frozen. Impeller iced in was the prognosis by the vendor who installed VFD. Waiting on Mother Nature. Pump is in continuous run mode. Water Street Notes: • Maintain water break excavations. Engineering Installed information: • Private contractor installed 518.5 LF of water main. Engineering Notes: 2018 Utility Reconstruction Projects Hayes, Wilson, Downtown Storm Sewer The final pay application has been approved for this utility contract. A recommendation to adjust assessment costs has been completed and the amended resolution is expected to be approved on April 17th. 2019 Utility Projects - Construction Evergreen Drive Storm Sewer The informational meeting for this project is scheduled for April 3rd. Bidding is scheduled to begin April 18th with the bid opening on May 9th. Bohm Drive Water Main Reconstruction A pre-construction meeting was held in March for the Bohm Water Main Reconstruction Project. Work is scheduled to start the first week in April and the installation is expected to be completed by the end of April. Northeast Sanitary Sewer Extension / Buchanan Road Water Main Extension This sanitary sewer and water main has been installed and is ready for use. Restoration is scheduled to be completed as soon as soil conditions allow. The contractor has been instructed to complete this task at the earliest date possible for the farm fields. 2019 North Storm Sewer Extension Project - Design The Village Consultant continues to make progress with their design. It is anticipated that this project will go to bid the first quarter of 2019 with construction completion in September of 2019. No additional information to report for this project.
