BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission (LYC) serves high school students living within the Lodi Unified
School District boundaries. The purpose of the LYC is to affect positive growth in young adults through a
variety of activities that will generate interest and participation within the greater Lodi area. Commissioners are
council-appointed and serve to recommend and advise City staff and Council on teen-related issues.
Commissions are governed by civic rules outlined in the bylaws and Brown Act, and meetings are run using
the Robert’s Rules of Order.
The Commission shall review and discuss their Bylaws, Brown Act and Robert’s Rules of Order for future
commission meetings and programs. The Commission will have the opportunity to ask questions from the
Commission Liaison and the Commission Adult Advisors.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission (LYC) serves high school students living within the Lodi Unified
School District (LUSD) boundaries. The purpose of the LYC is to develop engaging programs that provide
entertainment, recreation, personal development and promote volunteerism.
The Commission provides safe, fun, and/or educational events for youth in the LUSD area. Examples of such
events include; Pigskin Fall Formal, Casino Night, Backpack Drive, Adopt-A-Child, and Love Lodi.
The Commission shall discuss the following for the 2022/2023 LUSD school year to be discussed at future
meetings.
• Dances/Special Events
• Community Service/Community Outreach
• Timeline/Calendar
• Sub-Committees
