RECOMMENDED ACTION: Nominate and elect a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Secretary for
2022/2023 School Year.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission (LYC) serves high school students living within the Lodi Unified
School District (LUSD) boundaries. The purpose of the LYC is to develop engaging programs that provide
entertainment, recreation, personal development and promote volunteerism.
The Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Secretary are elected by the members thereof by a majority vote of all
the members. The term of office of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Secretary shall be a one-year term
providing they meet the meeting and participation requirements.
Commission shall nominate and elect officers for the 2022/23 school year.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
At the special meeting of the Greater Lodi Youth Commission on September 26, 2022, the Commission chose
the theme “Enchanted Forest” for their annual Pigskin Formal.
Commissioners shall discuss the final details for the Pigskin Formal including ideas for decorations, volunteers,
additional activities and marketing efforts. The goal is to sell 500 (couple) tickets.
Commissioners shall;
• Request decorations based on the theme
• Discuss where decorations would be placed
• Share information about the photo booth
• Give ideas for creative snacks
• Establish set up and clean up times
• Discuss ways Commissioners and staff will market event

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission (LYC) serves high school students living within the Lodi Unified
School District (LUSD) boundaries. The purpose of the LYC is to develop engaging programs that provide
entertainment, recreation, personal development and promote volunteerism.
The Commission provides safe, fun, and/or educational events and volunteer opportunities for youth in the
LUSD area. Examples of such events include; Casino Night, Backpack Drive, Adopt-A-Child, and Love Lodi.
The Commission shall discuss and recommend one special event and one volunteer project, schedule the
dates of each event between January and April 2023 and assign subcommittees to each event who will begin
meeting on their respective event after Pigskin and report back at future meetings.
