Tickets must be purchased in person, student ID must be provided, and parents will be able to purchase tickets for their teens as well, but also must provide their teen’s student ID. Evening of the event, teens must show their student ID before entering the facility even if they’ve already purchased a ticket. We have 500 tickets to sell, but may be subject to change with the number of donations and prizes we acquired. Discussion Items: • $5 Discount will apply at the time of ticket purchase with 2 canned food items • Ticket sales, ticket count 350/500 • List duties and assignments for Commissioners and volunteers • Types of refreshments and snacks to purchase • Donation count • Review poster and handout flyers to market event • D.J. and playlist of music • Photo Booth back dropped All Commissioners are expected to participate in the planning and implementation of the event over the next 2 months. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: April is National Poetry Month. In collaboration with the Library’s Teen Advisory Board, we are hosting a “Teen Poetry Slam” on April 21, 2023, at Hutchins Street Square This poetry event will be from 6 pm to 7 pm, in the Thomas Theater. The Poetry Slam calls all aspiring teen writers, creative artists, speakers, rappers and poets to reveal their inner voices. The Poetry Slam is meant to celebrate teens, literacy, and poetry appreciation. There will be prizes give out to the best poet.
