MINUTES CITY OF LOGANVILLE Planning and Development Committee Meeting Monday, August 5, 2019 1:00pm Council Chambers The City of Loganville Planning & Development Committee met on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 1:00pm in the Council Chambers. Committee Chairman Skip Baliles and Committee Members Danny Ford and Anne Huntsinger were all present. Chairman Skip Baliles called the meeting to order at 1:00pm. Chairman Skip Baliles stated that E-scooters have become a big area of concern and the City has had inquiries from a few companies about placing them inside the City. The committee discussed the potential problems associated with allowing E-scooters in the City. After much discussion, it was decided that the committee would make a recommendation to the Council to ban E-scooters with in the City of Loganville. Chairman Skip Baliles led a discussion on lot size requirements within the City of Loganville. There was much discussion regarding this matter. The general consensus was that higher density housing is having a negative effect on the quality of the homes being currently built in the City. The committee was in agreement to increase or create the requirement a minimum 16,000sq ft lot requirement in the City to gain better quality homes. The potential of requiring 4 sided brick was also discussed. The Committee also stated that they would like to fast track this matter to the City of Loganville in an effort to get it in place as soon as possible. With no further discussion, Council Member Danny Ford made a motion to adjourn. Council Member Anne Huntsinger seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0. Meeting adjourned at 1:44pm
