City of Loganville Planning & Development MINUTES Planning Commission Regular Business Meeting Thursday, November 21, 2013 Municipal Council Chambers MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: Planning Commission Chairman Ed Warren called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Invocation was given by R.C. Shanks followed by the pledge of allegiance. ATTENDANCE: Planning & Development Director, Tim Prater; Planning Commission Chairman, Ed Warren; Planning Commissioners: Barbara Forrester and R.C. Shanks were present. Arno Angulo, Sonny Medlin, Steven Landers and Bruce Granoff were absent. Administrative Assistant, Nina Ramsey recorded the minutes. APPROVE MINUTES: No motion was made to approve the October 24, 2013 minutes due to lack of quorum. THE FOLLOWING CASES WERE PRESENTED BY DIRECTOR, TIM PRATER: CASE #V13-012 VARIANCE – Mike Muzquiz filed an application requesting a major variance to permit construction of a regulation size tennis court and 10 foot fence on .74 acres, zoned R-22, located at 120 Fox Hole Court, Map/Parcel #NL06A-013, Walton County, Georgia. The property owner is Mary Ann Muzquiz. Relief is sought from Section 119 – 291 (b) (4) limiting the size of an accessory structure to 432 square feet on property of one acre or less and Section 119 – 324 (a) limiting the height of fences to 8 feet. Mike Muzquiz was present. Planning and Development had no objection to the variance. No motion was made for a recommendation due to lack of quorum. CASE #13-013 ORDINANCE AMENDMENT – An Ordinance to amend Sec. 119-249 Overlay District (3) d. 1 by replacing the word stucco with fiber cement board. In the Staff Report, the Planning & Development department recommended deleting 1. and 2. under d. Exterior materials, and inserting the following conditions. d. Exterior materials. 1. Front exterior elevations shall have at least 75 percent of their surface clad in brick, stone or stucco. 2. All other exterior elevations shall have at least 75 percent of their surface clad in brick, stone or fiber cement board. 3. Accent siding materials shall be of fiber cement type. No motion was made for a recommendation to amend the Ordinance due to lack of quorum.
