City of Loganville Planning & Development MINUTES Planning Commission Regular Business Meeting Thursday, June 26, 2014 Municipal Council Chambers MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Invocation was given by Chairman, Janice Tribble followed by the pledge of allegiance. ATTENDANCE: Planning & Development Director, Tim Prater; Planning Commissioners: Chairman, Janice Tribble; Bruce Granoff, Arnold Jones, Barbara Forrester, Linda Dodd, Danny Ford and Michael Lynch were present. Administrative assistant, Nina Ramsey recorded the minutes. APPROVE MINUTES: A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Danny Ford to approve the May 22, 2014 minutes. Motion carried 6 – 0 therefore the March 27, 2014 minutes were approved. BUSINESS: REZONE CASE R14-002 Danny Herrmann filed an application to rezone approximately 4.76 acres located on Tom Brewer Road, Map/Parcel #LG15-0006, Walton County, Georgia. The property owner is the First Baptist Church of Loganville. The current zoning is R-44. The requested zoning is R-22 Overlay for the development of an open space subdivision with approximately 10 – 12 lots. Council person Linda Dodd recused herself from participation to avoid a conflict of interest. Danny Herrmann was present and stated the homes would be 2,700 square feet and valued at $200,000.00 to $220,000.00. There will not be a club house only greenspace. Joseph Cavallo, George Wentz and Frank Bowers voiced the following concerns: Traffic, road width, sewer capacity, water runoff, location of detention pond, and 20 foot driveways where would guest park and too dangerous backing onto Tom Brewer Road. A motion was made by Danny Ford and seconded by Barbara Forrester to recommend approving the rezone as presented. Motion carried 3 – 2 with Arnold Jones and Michael Lynch opposing. Therefore the recommendation is to approve the rezone. ADJOURN A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Danny Ford to adjourn.
