City of Loganville Planning & Development Planning Commission Public Hearing Municipal Council Chambers 4303 Lawrenceville Road Thursday, February 22, 2018 • 6:30 p.m. ATTENDANCE: City Manager, Danny Roberts; Mayor, Ray Martinez; Planning & Development Director, Tim Prater; Planning Commission Chairman, Janice Tribble; Planning Commissioners, Barbara Forrester, Bruce Granoff, Richard Homick, Amanda Soesbe, and Kathrine Self. Faye Lamb was absent. Deputy Director, Shannon Bond recorded the minutes. SWEARING IN OF PLANNING COMMISSIONERS: Mayor Ray Martinez swore in previous Planning Commission members Janice Tribble, Barbara Forrester, and Richard Homick as well as new members Kathrine Self and Amanda Soesbe. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Invocation was given by Janice Tribble followed by the pledge of allegiance. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Richard Homick and seconded by Barbara Forrester to approve the minutes from September 28, 2017 Planning Commission meeting. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR: A motion was made by Bruce Granoff and seconded by Richard Homick to elect Janice Tribble as Planning Commission Chair. Motion carried 5-0. A motion was made by Bruce Granoff and seconded by Richard Homick to elect Barbara Forrester as Planning Commission Vice Chair. Motion carried 5-0. BUSINESS: Case #A18-001 – CSC Properties filed an application requesting annexation of approximately 1.98+/- acres located at 290 Lee Byrd Road, Loganville, GA 30052, Map/Parcel #C0210014, Walton County, GA. The property owner is the Estate of Albert Paul Burrell, Administrator Andy Tomlinson. Planning and Development Director, Tim Prater, presented the annexation case and the department’s recommendation was for approval. City Council member, Danny Ford, voiced his concern that traffic on Old Zion Cemetary Road could increase and become an issue. A motion was made by Richard Homick and seconded by Barbara Forrester to recommend the Planning Commission Meeting February 22, 2018 City of Loganville Planning & Development City Council approve the annexation. Motion carried 5-0. Case #R18-002 – CSC Properties filed an application requesting to rezone approximately 1.98+/- acres located at 290 Lee Byrd Road, Loganville, GA 30052, Map/Parcel #C0210014, Walton County, GA. The property owner is the Estate of Albert Paul Burrell, Administrator Andy Tomlinson. The current zoning is B2, and the requested zoning is CH. Planning and Development Director, Tim Prater, presented the rezone case, and the department’s recommendation was for approval. A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Bruce Granoff to recommend the City Council approve the rezone.
