City of Loganville Planning & Development Planning Commission Public Hearing Municipal Council Chambers 4303 Lawrenceville Road Thursday, September 28, 2017 • 6:30 p.m. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Invocation was given by Chairman, Janice Tribble followed by the pledge of allegiance. ATTENDANCE: Planning & Development Director, Tim Prater; Planning Commission Chairman, Janice Tribble; Planning Commissioners, Barbara Forrester, Anne Coles, Faye Lamb, Bruce Granoff, and Lisa Newberry. Richard Homick was absent. Administrative Assistant, Shannon Bond recorded the minutes. BUSINESS: Case #R17-007 – Thomas Carter filed an application requesting to rezone approximately 0.71+/- acres located at 108 Main Street, Loganville, GA 30052, Map/Parcel #LG100166, Walton County, GA. The property owner is Thomas Carter. The current zoning is R16, and the requested zoning is CH. Mark Cain, an adjacent property owner, voiced his concern that an entrance/exit on both Main Street and Lawrenceville Road could increase already present traffic issues, but he did not have an issue with the property being rezoned to CH. The site plan does not show an entrance/exit on Lawrenceville Road. He agreed that moving all six parking spaces to the south side of the property would alleviate his concern. A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded Ann Coles to recommend the City Council approve the rezone with the condition that all six parking spaces are to be located on the south side of the property. Motion carried 5 – 0 therefore the recommendation is to approve with the aforementioned condition. ADJOURN - A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Bruce Granoff to adjourn.
