Public Works Committee Meeting
Thursday, September 30, 2021 6:00pm
Council Chambers
The City of Loganville Public Works Committee met on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at
6:00pm in the Council Chambers. Chairwoman Linda Dodd and Committee Members Lisa
Newberry and Bill DuVall were present. Mayor Rey Martinez was also present.
Chairwoman Linda Dodd called the meeting to order at 6:02pm.
Chairwoman Linda Dodd made a motion to approve the agenda. Council Member Bill DuVall
seconded the motion. Motion approved 3-0.
Adam Shelton with Keck & Wood was present to discuss bids for the improvements to
Destination Park. Mr. Shelton explained that this project was bid out in May. At that time there
was only one bid and the contractor pulled his bid due to an error in his calculations. The project
was again bid out again. This time there were two bids which came in significantly higher than
expected due in part to current increase in the pricing of materials. After discussion, Chairwoman
Linda Dodd made a motion recommend that the City hold off on this project until next year for
prices to come down. Council Member Lisa Newberry seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
City Manager Danny Roberts explained that the City is required to sweep City Streets once a
year as a part of our MS4 Storm Water Permit. He asked for the approval to rent a street sweeper
as opposed to hiring a contractor. Chairwoman Linda Dodd made a motion to recommend
approval of the rental for approximately $8,000.00. Council Member Bill DuVall seconded the
motion. Motion carried 3-0.
Chairwoman Linda Dodd reported that the turn out for Dump Day was not as large as the one
held in the spring. There were only 40 residents who turned out and there were only 12 people
who volunteered for the clean which resulted in 27 bags or trash.
With no further business, Chairwoman Linda Dodd made a motion to adjourn. Council Member
Bill DuVall seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
Meeting adjourned at 6:22pm.
