CALL TO ORDER Chairwoman Fitzpatrick opened the hearing at 2:33 p.m. in the Code Enforcement Conference Room and referred to Ordinance No. C-5232, asked for all the people in the audience who planned to give testimony to stand, and they were sworn in by Elbert Dubose. ROLL CALL Commissioners Diane L. Arnold, Michael W. McCarthy, Jo Anne Fitzpatrick, Jim Present: Thompson and Michael Hamilton SWEARING OF WITNESSES APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Board Member Thompson and seconded by Board Member Arnold to approve the minutes of November 18, 2013 as submitted. The motion carried 4-0, Chairwoman Fitzpatrick abstained. BROADWAY, STE. 400 CONDEMNATION MINUTES LONG BEACH, CA 90802, 2:30 PM 1 CASE NO. C - 7842-01-14: 957 E. 4TH STREET, NEBOJSA STEFANOVIC, Owner, Proj. No. CESB203150, Council Dist. 2 Substandard Building Case Chairwoman Fitzpatrick called for the owner or representative to appear before the Board and no person appeared before the board. Staff indicated that as per recent inspection, the property remains in violation. It was moved by Board Member Manke and seconded by Board Member Hamilton to conclude the Hearing, adopt the findings of the Building Official as the Board’s findings determine that the One Story Commercial Building located at 957 E. 4th Street, Long Beach, CA 90802 is substandard and a public nuisance, and order the owner to rehabilitate the structure as per Findings dated January 3, 2014 by February 13, 2014. Also, order the owner to maintain the structure in a safe, clean and secure manner until the rehabilitation is completed. The motion carried unanimously. 2 CASE NO. C - 7843-01-14: 2090 KNOXVILLE AVENUE, MICHAEL AND LINDA FERRERA, Owners, Proj. No. CESB203417, Council Dist.4 Substandard Building Case Chairwoman Fitzpatrick called for the owners or representative to appear before the Board and Michael Ferrera, 2090 Knoxville Ave, Long Beach, CA 90815, owner, appeared. Staff indicated that as per recent inspection, the property remains in violation. It was moved by Board Member McCarthy and seconded by Board Member Thompson to continue the case to the next scheduled hearing of February 10, 2014. Also, order the owners to maintain the structures in a safe, clean and secure manner until the demolitions or rehabilitations are completed. The motion carried unanimously. No. CESB203008, Council Dist.5 Substandard Building Case Chairwoman Fitzpatrick called for the owner or representative to appear before the Board and no person appeared. Staff indicated that as per recent inspection, the property remains in violation. It was moved by Board Member Thompson and seconded by Board Member Arnold to conclude the Hearing, adopt the findings of the Building Official as the Board’s findings determine that the Single Family Dwelling with Attached Garage located at 2412 Roswell Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90815 is substandard and a public nuisance, and order the owners to demolish or rehabilitate the structure as per Findings dated January 3, 2014 by February 13, 2014. Also, order the owners to maintain the structures in a safe, clean and secure manner until the demolitions or rehabilitations are completed. The motion carried unanimously.
