BROADWAY, STE. 400 CONDEMNATION MINUTES LONG BEACH, CA 90802, 1:30 PM REGULAR MEETING - 1:30 P.M. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Thompson opened the meeting at 1:35 p.m. ROLL CALL SWEARING OF WITNESSES Chairman Thompson referred to Ordinance No. 5232, asked for all people in the audience who planned to give testimony, to stand, and they were sworn in by Jocelyn Edillor. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JANUARY 25, 2016 It was moved by Vice-Chairwoman Arnold and seconded by Board Member Witten to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion carried 4-2. Board Member Fitzpatrick was excused absent and Board Member Hamilton was absent, as well. 1 CASE NO. C-7861-01-16: 4644 GRAYWOOD AVENUE, CHARLES W. HOKANSON, Owner, Proj. No. CEAC223868, Council Dist. 5 Abandoned Vehicle Notice Appeal Case Chairman Thompson called for owner or representative to appear before the board and owner Charles Hokanson 4644 Graywood Avenue appeared. It was moved by Board Member McCarthy and seconded by Vice-Chairwoman Arnold to determine that the Single Family Dwelling with a Detached Garage located at 4644 Graywood Avenue is a public nuisance due to the fact that numerous inoperative vehicles and miscellaneous vehicle parts are being stored within public view. Also, order the owner to maintain the property in a safe and clean manner free of all inperative, unregistered, and dismantles vehicles and related vehicle parts. The Board's derermination is effective immediately. Based on the foregoing, the appeal is hereby denied. No. CEAC224128, Council Dist. 2 Administrative Citation Appeal Case Chairman Thompson called for owner or representative to appear before the Board and owner Paula Elias, 627 Pine Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90802 and owner's representative Jerome Stark, 540 N. Golden Circle #203, Santa Ana, CA 92705, appeared. It was moved by Vice-Chairwoman Arnold and seconded Board Member Witten to determine that the cited party is the current owner and responsible party of the subject property located at 1040 Appleton Street and the violations listed did exist the date the citation was issued. Based on the foregoing, the appeal is hereby denied. OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS DATE SET FOR NEXT HEARING: MARCH 21, 2016 MOTION FOR ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Board Member McCarthy and seconded by Board Member Witten that the hearing be adjourned at 3:35 p.m..
