CALL TO ORDER Vice-Chairwoman Arnold opened the meeting at 1:34 p.m. in the Code Enforcement Conference Room ROLL CALL Commissioners Eric Witten, Diane L. Arnold, Charles Whitehead and Ethel Present: Powers Commissioners Jim Thompson, Michael Hamilton and Michael W. McCarthy Excused: SWEARING OF WITNESSES Vice-Chairwoman Arnold referred to Ordinance No. C-5232, asked for all persons who planned to give testimony to stand, raise their right hand, and they were sworn in by Myeesha Ayala. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM MARCH 20, 2017 It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Powers to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion carried 4-0. 1 CASE NO. 7873-04-17: 1925 PACIFIC AVENUE: EMMANUEL FABIYI, OWNER, CE CASE NO. CEAC235240, COUNCIL DISTRICT 6 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION CASE Vice-Chairwoman Arnold called for the owner or representative to appear before the Board and Emmanuel Fabiyi, 1925 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90806, owners' representative, appeard before the board. It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Whitehead to grant the owner's appeal for the violations under sections LBMC 8.76.010 "Unsightly Property" and LBMC 18.05.010 "Building Plans Required" Page 1 of 3 CITY OF LONG BEACH MONDAY, APRIL 17, 2017 BOARD OF EXAMINERS, CODE ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM APPEALS AND 100 W. BROADWAY, STE. 400 CONDEMNATION MINUTES LONG BEACH, CA 90802, 1:30 PM and a refund in the amount of $200 for each violation, a total of $400. The Board denied the appeal for the amount of $1000 for the code violation listed under LBMC 18.04.010 "Building Permit Required." The motion carried unanimously. 2 CASE NO. 7874-04-17: 710 W. WILLOW STREET: RONALD AND PEGGY C. MACKEY/ FAMILY TRUST, OWNERS, CE CASE NO. CEAC236837, COUNCIL DISTRICT 7 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION CASE Vice-Chairwoman Arnold called for the owner or representative to appear before the Board and Larry Clough, 21757 Devonshire Ave Ste. 2, Chatsworth, CA 91311, Owner's Attorney and Ronald Mackey, 10935 Darby Ave, Northridge, CA 91326, Owner, both appeared before the Board. It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Board Member Whitehead to conclude the hearing, determine that the cited violations did exist on the date the citations were issued and the owner is the responsible person for the property located at 710 W. Willow Street, Long Beach, CA 90806. Therefore, the appeals requested on case number CEAC236837, are hereby denied for the 1st Administrative Citation dated January 17, 2017 and the 2nd Administrative Citation dated January 31, 2017. The motion carried unanimously.
