Chairman Thompson opened the meeting at 1:37 p.m. in the Code Enforcement Conference
Room.
SWEARING OF WITNESSES
Chairman Thompson referred to Ordinance No. C-5232, asked for all persons who planned to give
testimony, to stand, raise their right hand, and they were sworn in by Elbert Dubose.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM FEBRUARY 12, 2018
It was moved by Vice-Chairwoman Arnold and seconded by Board Member Hamilton to approve
the minutes as submitted.
CASE NO. 7884-04-18: 4644 GRAYWOOD AVENUE; CHARLES
HOKANSON, OWNER, CE CASE NO. CEAC243405, COUNCIL DIST.
5 ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION APPEAL CASE
Chairman Thompson called for the owner or representative to appear before the
Board and Charles Hokanson, owner of the property, appeared.
It was moved by Board Member Whitehead and seconded by Board Member
Witten to dismiss the case. The request to appeal was granted.
CASE NO. 7885-04-18: 1212 MYRTLE AVENUE; JAMES HENG,
OWNER, CE CASE NO. CEPH244399, COUNCIL DIST. 6,
ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION APPEAL CASE
Chairman Thompson called for the owner or representative to appear before the
Board and James Heng, owner of the property, appeared.

It was moved by Board Member Witten and seconded by Vice-Chairwoman
Arnold to conclude the hearing, determine that the appellant is the "Responsible
Party" and the cited violations did exist on the date the citation was issued at the
property located at 1212 Myrtle Avenue.
OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS
Jeff Dawson and Philip Martin, both residents in the City of Long Beach, spoke about their
concerns regarding a neighbor harassing and wasting Code Enforcement resources with false
complaints.

It was moved by Vice-Chairwoman Arnold and seconded by Board Member Powers to adjourn the
meeting at 2:20 p.m.
