MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Thompson opened the meeting at 1:37 pm in the Queen Mary Conference Room. Art
Sanchez, Deputy City Attorney filled in for Sarah Green, Deputy City Attorney.

Chairman Thompson referred to Ordinance No. 5232, asked for all persons who planned to give
testimony to stand, raise their right hand, and they were sworn in by Elbert DuBose.

It was moved by Board Member Whitehead and seconded by Board Member
Powers to approve the minutes as submitted.

19-052BE TRIENNIAL CODE ADOPTION PROCESS
Presented by Truong Huynh, General Superintendent with Matt Gruneisen,
Deputy Chief, Brian Weidman, Deputy Fire Marshal, and David Khorram,
Building Official present for any questions.
It was moved by Board Member Witten and Seconded by Vice Chairwoman
Arnlold to support the proposed amendments to Titles 3, 8, 9, 14, 18, and 21 of
the Long Beach Municipal Code related to the 2019 Edition of the California
Building Standards Code and the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Housing Code and
forward to the City Council for their consideration. The motion carried
unanimously.
