City of Long Beach, et aI., Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. BC721223. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 3. 20-0178 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $100,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Pacific Rim Automation, Inc. v. City of Long Beach, Los Angeles County Superior Court Case No. BC671282. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 4. 20-0179 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Compromise and Release for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $150,000 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Fernando Lujan. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 6. 20-0181 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $90,262.50 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Brian Tuliau. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 7. 20-0182 Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit two Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $870 and also 2) separate authority to pay $54,230 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Sandra Winn. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 8. 20-0183 Recommendation to receive and file the Quarterly Report of Cash and Investments for the quarter ending June 30, 2019. A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 11. 20-0186 Recommendation to approve the minutes for the City Council meeting of Tuesday, February 11, and February 18, 2020. (District 2) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 16. 20-0191 Recommendation to adopt resolution authorizing City Manager, or designee, to execute a contract, and any subsequent amendments necessary, with HealthAdvocate, of Omaha, NE, for providing a comprehensive and strategic suite of health resources designed to streamline employees’ healthcare navigation experience, in an annual amount not to exceed $200,000, for a period of three years, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods, at the discretion of the City Manager. (Citywide) A motion was made to approve recommendation and adopt Resolution No. RES-20-0030 on the Consent Calendar. Enactment No: RES-20-0030 17. 20-0192 Recommendation to adopt resolution authorizing City Manager, or designee, to execute a contract, and any necessary amendments, with PP-CA LP, dba Long Beach Animal Emergency, of Long Beach, CA, for providing emergency veterinary services, in an annual contract amount of $250,000, with a 15 percent contingency of $37,500, for a total annual contract amount not to exceed $287,500, for a period of two years, with the option to renew for three additional one-year periods, at the discretion of the City Manager; and Increase Munis Contract No. 3183400013 with PP-CA LP by $69,883, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $209,833. Enactment No: RES-20-0031 18. 20-0193 Recommendation to receive the application of LB Beadels, LLC, dba The Breakfast Bar 4th Street, for an original application of an Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) License, at 3404 East 4th Street; submit a Public Notice of Protest to ABC; and, direct City Manager to withdraw the protest if a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) is granted. (District 4) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 22. 20-0197 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to accept an easement deed from Amcal Las Ventanas Fund, LP, a California limited partnership, the owner of the property at 1795 Long Beach Boulevard, for street and alley widening purposes; and Accept State Clearinghouse Number 2015031034. (District 6) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 23. 20-0198 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to amend Contract No. 34352 with United Storm Water, Inc., of City of Industry, CA, for routine storm drain maintenance and repair, to increase the contract amount by $1,269,045, for a total amount not to exceed $3,359,045. (Citywide) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 24. 20-0199 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to amend Contract No. 34924 with Bon Air, Inc., of Los Angeles, CA, for the heating, ventilation and air condition Page 7 of 20 CITY OF LONG BEACH TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2020 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 411 W.
