Garner, General Manger, Water Department The Secretary briefed the Commission regarding this request. Jessica Stoudenmire, Administrative Officer, Water Department was present to answer the Commission questions. A motion was made by Commissioner Hicks, seconded by Commissioner Smith Watts, to approve recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4 - Charles Hicks, Carolyn M. Arias Absent: 1 - Rick McGilton-McGlamery UNFINISHED BUSINESS MANAGERS’ REPORT Recruitment & Selection Special Projects Administration Support Services Executive Director Ms. Slaten provided the Commission with an update on on-going and upcoming recruitment. She also informed the Commission that she and Ms. Taylor-Sherwood attended the Active Shooter training and shared the information with staff. Ms. Slaten introduced Nicole Gross, as the new analyst handling the Personnel matters for the Police Department. Mr. Pfingsthorn informed the Commission that Maria Alamo will be the new Civil Service Executive Assistant. Ms. McDonald informed the Commission that Tan Zeng, Administrative Intern-NC has accepted a new job with the City of Montebello. The Commission congratulated and thanked Tan for his help. COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC – The Civil Service Commission will hear from members of the public on matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction. On behalf of the Harbor Department, Ms. Lewis congratulated Ms. Hall on her retirement and thanked her for her service to the citizens and City of Long Beach.
