Ms. Kennedy was present to answer the Commission’s questions. President Arias asked Ms. Kennedy if there were any internal employees interested in the position. MINUTES COUNCIL CHAMBER, 8:00 AM MANAGERS’ REPORT Recruitment & Selection Special Projects Administration Support Services Executive Director Recruitment & Selection: Ms. Slaten briefed the Commission regarding the upcoming examinations. Ms. Slaten informed that she will be participating for a webinar on June 22, 2017 regarding remote proctoring. Ms. Slaten mentioned that this webinar will focus on the benefits that streamline the examination process. Ms. Slaten introduced Sergeant Brian McPhail, who oversees recruitment efforts for the Police Department. Sergeant McPhail explained to the Commission of the efforts that have been made by the Police Department in recruiting community members for job opportunities. Ms. Slaten thanked Ms. Goings for her hard work in establishing examination results. Special Projects Ms. McDonald announced that NEOGOV will release new features for Online Hiring Center (OHC) on June 29. Ms. McDonald mentioned that with the new feature, NEOGOV is moving to a new interphase. Ms. McDonald stated that last week, she met with most of the City Manager’s Departments to demonstrate the new NEOGOV features. Executive Director Ms. Taylor-Sherwood informed the Commission regarding improvements that will be made with online testing. MINUTES COUNCIL CHAMBER, 8:00 AM UNFINISHED BUSINESS Commissioner Charles Hicks asked of the status of Special Services Officer position. Ms. Taylor-Sherwood informed the Commission that Human Resources is working on a report and will provide an update to the Commission once they finalize their report. Ms. Taylor-Sherwood informed the Commission she still is working on the project to streamline agenda items and is pending feedback from city departments. She anticipates to be completed and will present her findings to the Commission. NEW BUSINESS Commissioner Charles Hicks said that last week, he shadowed Public Safety Dispatchers both for Police and Fire. Commissioner Hicks said that he was very impressed with the work tasks achieved by our city Public Safety Dispatchers. COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC – The Civil Service Commission will hear from members of the public on matters within the Commission’s jurisdiction. Ms. McDonald thanked the Administration Support Services and Human Resources Department for assisting with the initial demonstration of the new NEOGOV presentation.
