MINUTES 16-008CH Recommendation to receive and file the Minutes of the February 8, 2016 Cultural Heritage Commission meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner van Dijs, seconded by Commissioner Carmack, to approve the recommendation. Christopher Koontz, Advance Planning Officer, spoke. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION There was no public comment given. CONTINUED ITEM 1. 15-037CH Recommendation to approve a modification to a previously granted Certificate of Approriateness, Case Number HP13-0068, for exterior building improvements and the restoration of columns, pressed metal decorative building features and paint removal to expose original terra cotta tiles on an existing historic landmark building at 201 Pine Avenue. (District 2) Christopher Koontz, Advance Planning Officer, provided the staff report. Alejandro Plascencia, Project Planner, spoke. John Thomas, representing the applicant, spoke. Vice Chair Highberger spoke. A motion was made by Commissioner Hernandez, seconded by Commissioner Ivers, to approve the recommendation. Highberger, Louise Ivers and Shannon Carmack REGULAR AGENDA 1. 16-010CH Election of Officers Chair Burks opened the nominations for the Chair and Vice Chair. Christopher Koontz, Advance Planning Officer, spoke. Vice Chair Highberger nominated Chair Burks to remain in the office of Chair. Chair Burks accepted the nomination. Commissioner Ivers nominated Vice Chair Highberger to remain in the office of Vice Chair. Vice Chair Highberger accepted the nomination. Commissioner Carmack spoke. Christopher Koontz spoke. Highberger, Louise Ivers and Shannon Carmack 2. 16-009CH Recommend the consideration of a request for Local Historic Landmark designation of the building located at 260 E. San Antonio Drive. LONG BEACH, CA 90802, 5:30 PM A motion was made by Commissioner Ivers, seconded by Commissioner Roosevelt, to approve the recommendation, as amended, directing staff to take care of the approval of the shutters that will be put on in the near future; and the approval for the repair or replacement of the front door.
