ROLL CALL Also present: Linda Tatum, Planning Bureau Manager; Alejandro Plascencia, Planner; Alison Spindler, Planner; Alison Riordan, Clerk Typist Commissioners Shannon Carmack, Louise Ivers, Craig Smith, Karen L. Present: Highberger and Alan Burks Commissioners Jan Robert van Dijs and Julianna Roosevelt Absent: FLAG SALUTE Commissioner Carmack led the flag salute. MINUTES 16-042CH Recommendation to receive and file the Cultural Heritage Commission minutes of October 10, 2016. A motion was made by Commissioner Ivers, seconded by Vice Chair Highberger, to approve recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4 - Louise Ivers, Craig Smith, Karen L. Alejandro Plascencia, Planner, spoke. Linda Tatum spoke. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Members of the public are invited to address the Cultural Heritage Commission on items of interest to the public within the Commission's jurisdiction. Each speaker will be limited to three minutes unless that time is extended by the Chair. SWEARING OF WITNESSES REGULAR AGENDA 1 16-044CH Approve a Certificate of Appropriateness request for construction of a new detached one-story dwelling unit with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and attached four-car garage proposed in the rear of the property with an existing single family home in the PD-10 zoning district. The property is located at 729 Daisy Avenue, in the Drake Park/Willmore City Historic District. A motion was made by Chair Burks, seconded by Commissioner Carmack, to approve recommendation with condition that the applicant works with City staff to redesign the elevations and also uses real wood siding which should be similar in size to existing placard siding. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5 - Shannon Carmack, Louise Ivers, Craig Smith, Karen L. Highberger and Alan Burks Absent: 2 - Jan Robert van Dijs and Julianna Roosevelt 2 16-043CH Approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for construction of facade alterations including reconstruction of the front porch, roof alterations, and other exterior alterations to the house and garage. The building is located at 318 Carroll Park West and is a non-contributing structure within the Carroll Park Historic District.
