MINUTES 17-003CH Recommendation to receive and file the Cultural Heritage Commission minutes of January 9, 2017. A motion was made by Vice Chair Highberger, seconded by Commissioner Roosevelt, to approve recommendation. REGULAR AGENDA (4) 1 17-006CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness request to allow for the demolition of an existing accessory structure and construction of a new, detached 1-car garage with accessory use for an existing single family home located in the rear portion of a R-3-T property with an existing contributing single family home and commercial building, located at 3303-3305 E. 4th Street within the Rose Park South Historic District. (District 2) Christopher Koontz, Advance Planning Officer, introduced Alison Spindler, Project Planner, who presented the staff report. Highberger and Alan Burks Absent: 1 - Louise Ivers 2 17-005CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness request for the construction of a 328-square-foot addition to the rear of an existing single-family dwelling located at 3650 Cerritos Avenue. The property is a contributing structure located within the boundaries of the California Heights Historic District. (District 7) Vice Chair Highberger excused herself from the Council Chamber. Highberger 3 17-007CH Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness request for the construction of a 644-square-foot addition to the rear of an existing single-family dwelling, remove 13-square feet from the existing single-car garage and construct a 90-square-foot accessory structure attached to the rear of the garage located at 3815 Wilton Street. The property is a contributing structure located within the Wilton Street Historic District. (District 4) Vice Chair Highberger rejoined the meeting. A motion was made by Vice Chair Highberger, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to approve recommendation with the additional condition that the trim and garage door opening be increased in size and scale to mimic the house, rafter tails be added to the roof line, and garage door be taken back to staff for approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Shannon Carmack, Jan Robert van Dijs, Julianna Roosevelt, Craig Smith, Karen L.
