APPROVAL OF MINUTES 18-016HS Recommendation to approve the minutes of the Homeless Services Advisory Commission meeting held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. A motion was made by Member Finch, seconded by Member Wilson, to approve recommendation. The following were recommendations provided for the next 6 months: • Housing Development • Prosecutor’s Office • Disaster Preparedness • Interjurisdictional Coordination/Interdepartmental Team • Innovative Housing Ideas/Shared Housing The following were recommendations for the following 12 months: • Emerging Diseases that impact the street population • Presentation from the Mayor • Long Beach Unified School District and College Supports for Homeless Students • Pacific Gateway Workforce Development Work Programs • Veterans Administration Programs for Homeless Veterans • Safe Parking Program • Homeless Management Information System • Mobile Shower/Laundry Facility Programming Committee Member Graeber joins the meeting at 3:47 p.m. Committee Member Pearson joins the meeting at 3:50 p.m. Discussion ensued among the committee members regarding the item above. HOMELESS SERVICES OFFICER REPORT Shannon Parker, Homeless Services Officer, and Elsa Ramos, Special Projects Coordinator provided an overview on the following items: • Homeless Emergency Assistance Program • California Emergency Solutions and Housing (CESH) • Long Beach Continuum of Care Retreat • Intensive Case Management Services (ICMS) Program • Crisis and Bridge Bed Program • Everyone Home Long Beach-Friday, November 9, 2018 • Multi-Service Center visit from Assembly Member Patrick O’Donnell’s office • Participation in the Disability and Access and Functional Needs Working Group • Homeless Count-Save the Date January 24 Discussion ensued among the committee members regarding the items above. Committee Member Sngiem retires from the meeting at 4:51 p.m. Committee Member Sngiem rejoins the meeting at 4:52 p.m. Committee Member Sngiem retires from the meeting at 4:53 p.m. MAYOR'S FUND ENVELOPE Elsa Ramos, Special Projects Coordinator, informed HSAC members that the envelope had been revised with their input and was pending printing. FUTURE AGENDA ITEM HSAC Annual Report ANNOUNCEMENTS Committee member Wilson informed HSAC of the upcoming Veterans Day Parade in Council District 9 on 11/11/2018 at Houghton Park.
