NEW BUSINESS 4. 19-044MA Recommendation to approve for submission to City Council Marine Advisory Commission Annual Report for 2018. A motion was made by Commissioner Mayes, seconded by Vice Chair Turpin, to approve recommendation. LBPD- Marine Patrol Unit Update Elvira Hallinan gave the following update for Marine Patrol (due to an all-day training): · Marine Patrol conducted several interviews to fill current vacant positions. This will create a promotional opportunity for a current Special Services Officer within the City. Specific Highlight Events: · Nov. 12th - A couple of PD Officers were flagged down regarding a suspicious person at Cerritos Bahia Marina. They requested Marine Patrol Officers to assist. The investigation determined the person detained had committed two boat burglaries. The individual was taken safely into custody. · Nov 13th - Marine Patrol Officers were requested to assist in the recovery of a stolen boat. The boat was stolen from the Port of Long Beach on November 12th. Officers from the Port Police Division took the suspect into custody without further incident.
