The motion passed unanimously. 4. 16-055PR Authorize the Director to execute the First Amendment to Fitness Provider Permit No. 33126 with Emily Duval Ledger, dba Recreation Fitness at Whaley Park; and amend Attachment “A” of the Permits as needed. FINANCE & APPEALS COMMITTEE Julie Heggeness - Chair Vice President Heggeness stated the committee met and discussed budget, this month's loss report and fee waivers. MAINTENANCE & INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE Ron Antonette - Chair Commissioner Antonette stated the committee met and reviewed the Parkland Maintenance Pest Control report. MARKETING & RECREATION COMMITTEE David Zanatta - Chair Commissioner Zanatta stated the committee is scheduled to meet before the October 20th Commission meeting. PARKS USAGE COMMITTEE Stella Ursua - Chair Commissioner Ursua stated the committee is scheduled to meet in November. STUDEBAKER ROAD, 9:00 AM JOINT USE COMMITTEE Ron Sievers - Chair Commissioner Sievers stated the City Joint Use Committee meeting will take place in October. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS PUBLIC COMMENT: IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO ADJOURNMENT Opportunity is given to those members of the public who would like to address the Parks and Recreation Commission on non-agenda items. Each speaker is limited to three minutes unless extended by the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Brown Act prohibits the Commission from responding to public comments on non-agenda items. Randy Zarn spoke regarding Partners of Parks and changes that are occurring. President Goldberg spoke. Ann Cantrell spoke regarding the sports fields. Lucy Johnson spoke regarding the upcoming Aquatics Capital of America awards ceremony. Jill Brennan spoke regarding the bathroom doors at El Dorado Park. STUDEBAKER ROAD, 9:00 AM Staff Comments: Gladys Kaiser reviewed the Department's very busy summer. Hurley Owens spoke regarding tree removals and precautionary measures being taken on trees that have branches in danger of falling. Stephen Scott spoke regarding FY-17 Budget adoption. Commissioner Comments: Commissioner Sievers spoke regarding the condition of the turf in the Traffic Circle. Vice President Heggeness thanked Kelly Parkins for her presentation. President Goldberg also thanked Kelly Parkins for her presentation. NEXT MEETING The next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the El Dorado Park West Community Center, Senior Center Library located at 2800 N. Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90815.
