CALL TO ORDER
The Parks and Recreation Commission meeting was called to order by Chair Goldberg at
9:03 a.m., at the El Dorado Park Senior Center. Director Knight took the roll call and
confirmed a quorum.

Commissioners Antonette and Ursua from the February 15, 2018, Parks and Recreation

PRESENTATIONS
Employee of the Month - January 2018
Michelle Wilson introduced Marie Knight as the January Employee of the Month. Big
congratulations are in order for Director Marie Knight. Marie is the perfect example of what a
true leader is all about. Her time here with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine
has shown staff that no matter what bureau you may work for, everyone here is part of one
big community. Marie always has a positive attitude and her strengths are found in her team
building, motivation, initiative, and excellent organizational skills. Marie’s outgoing and friendly
personality helped to create a pleasant environment to work in and she is held in high regard
by her colleagues. Her contributions have been a great benefit to this organization and,
undeniably, she will be deeply missed here. It is definitely our loss and Huntington Beach’s
gain. Congratulations once again, Marie! We know you will find great success in your future
endeavors due to your diligence, awesome attitude and outlook on life!

Authorize the Director of Parks, Recreation and Marine to execute all
documents necessary for the termination of Fitness Provider Permit
No. 33008 with Fitness Through Motion, Inc. (District 3).
