Lonoke City Council Lonoke City Council Meeting July 10, 2023 The Lonoke City Council held a city council meeting at the multiple building at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023. Mayor Wayne McGee called the meeting to order with the Invocation was given by Reid Terry, Lonoke Baptist Church. City Clerk, Jeribeth Edwards called the roll and declared a quorum. Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Sean Simpson seconded the motion. Motion carried. Public Comment: (none) LONOKE COUNTY LIBRARY: A calendar to show the July activities were presented. BEAUTIFICATION TEAM REPORT- Ms. Schafer was present and gave report. PUBLIC WORKS (WATER AND SEWER): Thomas Stivers was present and gave report. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Thomas Stivers was present and gave report. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief Edwards was present and gave report. A. Lt. Malcolm Cole retiring- Chief Edwards discussed that he would like to award Lt. Cole his service pistol, a Glock model 30 serial number BCUR739 and would like to allow Lt. Cole to purchase his shotgun, a Remington 870 serial number D892583M at Fair Market Value. Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to allow Chief Edwards to Gift the service pistol and for Lt. Cole to pay $200.00 for the shotgun. Koy Butler seconded the motion. Motion carried. PARKS AND MOSQUITO: Mr. Evan Jacobs was present and gave report. No action needed. FIRE DEPARTMENT: Chief Whittenburg was present and gave report. A. June 2023 ISO Report- Chief Whittenburg gave report. The City’s ISO rating for insurance purposes will decrease to a 04/4Y from a previous 05/5X effective October 1, 2023. This should help our citizens to receive a lower homeowner’s insurance rate. OLD BUISNESS A. Solar Array Site Production Report- McKinstry provided a Site Production Report. The total estimated savings are as follows. March 2023 $6,759.60 April 2023 $7,327.20 May 2023 $8,514.00 June 2023 $7,869.00 NEW BUSINESS: A. Ordinance #814 (tabled) B. FYE 2022 Water and Sewer Audit Results (Landmark CPA’s report)- Report was given. Wendell Moore made a motion to accept the report. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. C. Permission from city council to get estimates to move forward with equipment repairs and use ARPA grant funds to cover expenses - Mayor McGee mentioned to the council that several pieces of equipment need to be fixed. He plans to compile a list of everything with quotes. Wendell Walker made a motion to allow the mayor to get quotes. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. ANNOUNCEMENTS: A. Planning Commission meeting is on Monday, July 17th at 6:00pm. APRROVAL TO PAY BILLS: Koy Butler made a motion to pay bills. Jim Ed Ransom seconded the motion. Motion carried.
