Lonoke City Council Lonoke City Council Meeting January 13, 2025 The Lonoke City Council held a city council meeting at the multiple building at 6:00 p.m. Monday January 13, 2025. Mayor Wayne McGee called the meeting to order with the Invocation was given by Pastor Efrem Jones. City Clerk, Jeribeth Edwards called the roll and declared a quorum. Allison, Mildred and Mike Jones, Wayne Rathbun and Cindy Reaves Minutes: Mayor Wayne McGee asked for the acceptance of December 9th regular Meeting and December 19th special meeting. Sean Simpson made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Wendell Walker seconded the motion. Motion carried. Public Comment – A. Terry Taykowski- Mr. Taykowski was present and voiced his concern regarding moving forward with the contracting out the leaf and limb service that was passed during the special meeting Dec. 19th. LONOKE COUNTY LIBRARY: A calendar to show the January activities was presented. COMMUNITY CENTER: Mr. Mike Brown was present and gave report. The events going on are youth Basketball and Baptist Health Checks. FIRE DEPARTMENT: Chief Whittenburg was present and gave the report. PUBLIC WORKS (WATER AND SEWER): Robert Sullivan was present and gave a report. PARKS AND MOSQUITO: Mr. Evan Jacobs was present and gave the report. OLD BUISNESS A. Solar Array Site Production Report- McKinstry provided a Site Production Report. No action. NEW BUSINESS: A. Declare a vacancy for Alderman seats in Ward 2 and Ward 5- Mayor McGee announced there are vacancies for alderman. If anyone is interested in serving in this position to please come by city hall and leave your contact information. APRROVAL TO PAY BILLS: Wendell Walker made a motion to pay bills. Jim Ed Ransom seconded the motion. Motion carried. The planning commission meeting is scheduled Monday, January 20th at 6:00. B. City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Day. C. ADJOURNMENT – (Action Needed: Motion to Approve) During public comment, issues NOT on the agenda may be addressed. Comments concerning items on the agenda may be allowed when the Council discusses that item. Public comments regarding any personnel issues will not be allowed. Anyone wishing to make a comment must fill out the appropriate form located in the Mayor’s office and return it no later than the Tuesday before council meeting by noon. In the interest of time, comments will be limited to three (3) minutes. This privilege may be revoked by the Mayor in the case of inappropriate language or comments. Any member of the public shall first state his or her name and address, followed by a concise statement of the person’s position or concern. All remarks shall be addressed to the Mayor or the Council as a whole, not to any particular member of the Council. No person other than the Council members and the person having the floor shall be permitted to enter into any discussions without permission of the Mayor.
