Lonoke City Council Lonoke City Council Meeting March 10, 2025 The Lonoke City Council held a city council meeting at the multiple building at 6:00 p.m. Monday March 10, 2025. Mayor Wayne McGee called the meeting to order with the Invocation was given by Raymond Hatton. City Clerk, Jeribeth Edwards called the roll and declared a quorum. Justin Whittenburg Parks Director Jonathan Curry News Media none Visitors: Rachel Whittenburg, Minutes: Mayor Wayne McGee asked for the acceptance of February 10th regular Meeting minutes. Sean Simpson made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Dale Carothers seconded the motion. Motion carried. Public Comment – A. Delories Allison was present and discussed a tree on Vasser Lane. She is worried it may fall. Ms. Allison also spoke on the town’s growth. She would like to see a grocery store on the south side of town. She also asks everyone on the council to see that growth is needed in this town. LONOKE COUNTY LIBRARY: A calendar to show the March activities was presented. State of the City Address- Mayor McGee talked on the things that have been done in the City of Lonoke. Also, he explained that there is a lot of things the city needs to fix. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief Keith Graham was present and gave the report. A. Permission to sell old equipment on Gov Deals and remove from fixed assets. (List Attached) Four police cars. Unit #3, Unit #6, Unit #7, Unit #9. There are some other items that will be included. Sean Simpson Made a motion to approve the sale of old equipment. Wendell Walker seconded the motion. Motion carried. PARKS AND MOSQUITO: Director Johnathan Curry was absent. The events going on are youth Basketball, Sr. Dance, Pickle ball, Line dance. A. Approval to purchase new weightlifting equipment- Mike Brown explained he wants to purchase a set of new racks and accessories to match the new equipment we got last year at $15,586.62. This will come from 2nd Chance fitness. They are an approved TIPS vendor. Raymond Hatton made a motion to approve the new equipment. Sean Simpson seconded the motion. Motion carried. FIRE DEPARTMENT: Chief Whittenburg was present and gave the report. PUBLIC WORKS (WATER AND SEWER): Robert Sullivan was present and gave a report. OLD BUISNESS A. Solar Array Site Production Report- McKinstry provided a Site Production Report. No action needed. B. Leaf and Limb Contract- Sean Simpson made a motion to approve the contract. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ordinance 823- “An Ordinance waives competitive bidding for the purchase of two used police vehicles for the Lonoke Police Department”- Sean Simpson made a motion to put Ord. 823 on the floor. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ginger Stuart read Ordinance 823 and its entirety. Wendell Walker made a motion to accept the 1st reading. Sean Simpson seconded the motion. Motion carried with 8 hand votes. Jane Derning to suspend rules-2nd reading. Wendell Walker seconded the motion. Motion carried with 8 hand votes. Ginger Stuart read the title only. Sean Simpson made a motion to accept the 2nd reading title only. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried with 8 hand votes. Jane Derning made a motion to suspend rules- 3rd reading. Quotes for repair of KX080 Excavator- An estimate from Fiegel’s Fix-it for $8,624.13. A quote from River Valley Tractor for $12,088.80. Heavyquip estimate for $17,855.24. Wendell Walker made a motion to accept the quote from Fiegel’s. Stan Moran seconded the motion. Motion carried. B. Approval of Services agreement with PMI and estimate of repairs for wastewater plant Aeration upgrades- Wendell Walker made a motion to accept the bid from PMI.
