CITY OF LOS BANOS AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 17, 2021 ACTION MINUTES – These minutes are prepared to depict action taken for agenda items presented to the Airport Advisory Commission. Special Note – This meeting was held by teleconference due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Anderson called the Airport Advisory Commission Meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Leonardo led the pledge of allegiance. ROLL CALL – MEMBERS OF THE AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION PRESENT: Anderson, Blevins, King, Leonardo, Reed. STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Public Works Operations Manager Via, Administrative Coordinator de Melo. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion by Reed, seconded by Leonardo to approve the agenda as submitted. The motion carried by the affirmative vote of all Airport Advisory Commission Members present. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF THE ACTION MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR MEETING OF JULY 20, 2021: Motion by Leonardo, seconded by King to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion carried by the affirmative vote of all Airport Advisory Commission Members present. PUBLIC FORUM: MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC MAY ADDRESS THE COUNCIL ON ANY ITEM OF PUBLIC INTEREST THAT IS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY; INCLUDES AGENDA AND NON-AGENDA ITEMS. NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS. SPEAKERS ARE LIMITED TO A FIVE (5) MINUTE PRESENTATION. DETAILED GUIDELINES ARE POSTED ON THE COUNCIL CHAMBER INFORMATIONAL TABLE. Secretary de Melo stated that no comments were received and the public forum was therefore closed. AIRPORT 2021 FUEL SALES REVIEW. Operations Manager reported JetA is currently 3.39/gallon. 100LL is at $4.99/gallon. In a 50-mile radius, are currently cheapest in price for JetA fuel and mid-range for the 100LL. We currently do not have 100LL for sale, as we had to empty the tank for repairs. In July 2021, we sold $15,421.19, compared to $54,140.92 in July 2020, which was so high because PG&E was doing pole survey during July of last year. AIRPORT 2020/20121 REVENUE/EXPENDITURE UPDATE. Operations Manager Via reported the budget is on track. We will be purchasing a full load of 100LL one the tank is cleaned out and repaired. We recently purchased the blower for $8,963 to clean the debris off the runway. Vice Chairperson Leonardo asked who is paying for the blower and will it only be used at the airport. Manager Via stated that the blower was paid for from the Airport Fund, and will only be used at the airport. Commissioner Reed asked how often the blower will be used. Manager Via said we don’t have a set schedule but we plan on starting once a week, until we determine how often we need it. PUBLIC WORKS OPERATIONS REPORT. Operations Manager Via reported that we continue to do weed abatement and every day maintenance. COMMISSION MEMBER REPORTS. BLEVINS: No report. KING: No report. LEONARDO: Asked for a date for the tour. Manager Via said we are waiting for Council to go back to in-person meetings. Asked for input of when Commissioners will be available for a tour. There was no response. REED: No report. ANDERSON: Had audio difficulties, unable to make a report.
