AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 21, 2021
ACTION MINUTES – These minutes are prepared to depict
action taken for agenda items presented to the Airport
Advisory Commission.
Special Note – This meeting was held by teleconference due to the
COVID-19 Pandemic.
CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Anderson had technical difficulty. Commissioner Reed
called the Airport Advisory Commission Meeting to order at 5:04 p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Reed led the pledge of allegiance.
ROLL CALL – MEMBERS OF THE AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION PRESENT:
Anderson, Blevins, King, Reed; Leonardo excused.
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Public Works Operations Manager Via, Administrative
Coordinator de Melo.
CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion by Reed, seconded by
Blevins to approve the agenda as submitted. The motion carried by the affirmative vote
of all Airport Advisory Commission Members present; Leonardo excused.
CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF THE ACTION MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR
MEETING OF AUGUST 17, 2021: Motion by Reed, seconded by King to approve the
minutes as submitted. The motion carried by the affirmative vote of all Airport Advisory
Commission Members present; Leonardo excused.
PUBLIC FORUM: MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC MAY ADDRESS THE COUNCIL ON
ANY ITEM OF PUBLIC INTEREST THAT IS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE
CITY; INCLUDES AGENDA AND NON-AGENDA ITEMS. NO ACTION WILL BE
TAKEN ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS. SPEAKERS ARE LIMITED TO A FIVE (5)
MINUTE PRESENTATION. DETAILED GUIDELINES ARE POSTED ON THE
COUNCIL CHAMBER INFORMATIONAL TABLE. Secretary de Melo stated that no
comments were received and the public forum was therefore closed.
AIRPORT 2021 FUEL SALES REVIEW. Operations Manager reported JetA is currently
3.55/gallon. 100LL is at $5.55/gallon. We just purchased a load of both fuel types.
AIRPORT 2020/20121 REVENUE/EXPENDITURE UPDATE. Operations Manager Via
reported we haven’t had a lot of expenditures this fiscal year. We spent about $3,000
painting the fuel tanks, when they were cleaned. We just rented out a hangar for one
month to the Milliken Museum who will be going through some historical artifacts.
PUBLIC WORKS OPERATIONS REPORT. Operations Manager Via reported we
recently had a Caltrans inspection. There were four items that need to be addressed.
One item was the runway end identifier lights are out and need to be replaced. Two
trees by the lounge need to be trimmed. Some Taxiway and direction signs are faded
and need replacement, and blue sheet retro-reflective material is faded and need
replacement. We used the orchard blower for the first time last week. It worked really
well. We will be using this once a month or as needed. We just re-hired a part-time
position out at the airport that was laid off during Covid. Chairperson Anderson asked
the status of the airport tour. Operations Manager said we can have the tour during our
next Commission meeting in October.

KING: No report.
LEONARDO: Excused.
REED: No report.
ANDERSON: Keep up the good work, looking forward to our next meeting.
