APPROVED 4.6.22 BOH MEETING March 2, 2022 IN ATTENDENCE Jo-Ann Keegan - Chairperson Kathleen Cullen-Lutter, Member (remote) Erin Gendron, Member William Galvin, Member Lisa Golden, HHS Director Shawn Machado, Senior Sanitary Code Inspector Chairperson Keegan called the meeting to order at 6:04PM 3/2/2022 – Minutes 1. NEW BUSINESS 1.I. For Acceptance: Minutes of the February 9, 2022 Meeting of the Board of Health Motion: To accept the minutes of the February 9, 2022 Meeting of the Board of Health was made by Erin Gendron, seconded by William Galvin. All in favor 1.II. For Review: Tobacco Control Monthly Report submitted by Cesar Pungirum, Program Director The Board accepted the report and placed on file. 1.III. For Review: Monthly Development Services Report submitted by Senior Sanitary Code Inspector Shawn Machado Senior Sanitary Code Inspector Shaw Machado reviewed the monthly reports with the Board. Discussion on the reports occurred. Mr. Jimmy Li and Attorney Charles Reid were present to discuss the mitigation efforts at Gold Star Restaurant on Fairmount St. The Board was presented a Health & Safety plan for the restaurant. Discussion on the plan occurred. The Board recommended that a ServSafe Trainer be brought in to train the employees at the restaurant and the restaurant is to remain closed until such time that Mr. Machado has re-inspected and approved the restaurant to reopen. 1.IV. Communication: Updates from the Mass Department of Agriculture The Board had no questions and placed the communication on file. 2. OLD BUSINESS 2.I. Update: COVID-19 HHS Director Lisa Golden reviewed the COVID-19 statistics with the Board. Ms. Golden also informed the Board that the City of Lowell was recently one of the DPH Spotlight cities regarding COVID-19 community efforts, and that the vaccination site at Old Ferry Road will be reducing their hours as vaccination demand is decreasing. 3. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 3.I. Department and Divisional Reports and Updates The Board reviewed and discussed the Department reports. Ms. Golden updated the Board on the hiring of 2 new Public Health Nurse-Clinics in February. 4. Motion: To Adjourn Motion: to adjourn at 7:06 PM made by William Galvin, seconded by Erin Gendron.
