Council on Aging Board

Council on Aging (COA) Advisory Board Meeting Agenda Monday November 8, 2021, at 9:00 AM at the Lowell Senior Center I. Roll Call Chairman, Andrew Hostetler, Director, Lillian Hartman, Board Members, Beverly Gonsalves, Judith Huber, Molyka Tieng, Joyce Dastou on phone. Absent John Lawler, Vincenzo Milinazzo, Anne Marie Porter, one vacancy. Visitor: John King II. Pledge of Allegiance III. Approval of Minutes: Working Meeting, not enough attendees to accept the minutes of the October 18th meeting. IV. Chairperson’s Report: Andy spoke about the Adult Action Group. There was a Focus Group meeting last month. The goals are to get more adults involved in groups, to have diverse groups and more focus groups on types of empowerment. V. Director’s Report: Lillian went over the Report for November. Vi. Guest Presenter: Glady Rosa: She has been the Volunteer coordinator for two years with CTI. She is currently an Outreach Coordinator, she will help seniors with Food Stamps, Fuel Assistance and Depression. She will follow through with help, keeping up with the issues and filling our applications. VII. Committee Reports: a. Outreach: Have Action/Groups with different issues. b. HAC VII. Items for Discussion: a. Old Business b. New Business Senior Center Website Review. There are many Action Issues on this website for seniors to look at. Aurora Erickson the new Activities Planner will be taking care of this website. Joyce Dastou also agreed that this website has much activity information for the seniors to look at. IX. Other: John King, visitor had several questions for the Director, which included, will there be rides to attend lunch at the Senior Center? This depends if there will be drivers available. Q. Will there be parties for the volunteers? Glady did have a Grab n Go Bag for the volunteers: the bag included a mask, candy, cheesecake, etc.. Q. Gifts at the Dinner Dance, Yes the Center usually gets donations. X. Adjournment: First by Beverly, second by Joyce Dastou, all were in agreement. Next Meeting: Monday, December 13 @ 9:00 AM
