Council on Aging Board

Council on Aging (COA) Advisory Board Meeting Agenda Monday January 10, 2022 at 9:00am at Lowell Senior Center I. Roll Call; Chairman Andrew Hostetler, Director Lillian Hartman, Members, Judy Huber, Molyka King & Beverly Gonsalves. On the telephone were: Joyce Dastou and Anne Marie Porter, absent: John Lawlor. Visitor: John King II. Pledge of Allegiance III. Approval of October Minutes, Judy Huber, Beverly Gonsalves, all were in favor. Approval of the November Minutes, Joyce Dastou, Judy Huber, all were in favor, the December Minutes, Beverly Gonsalves and Joyce Dastou, All were in favor. IV. Chairperson’s Report: Andy suggested he would pass to the Director’s Report as there was a presentation to be given by Mill City Growers. V, Director’s Report: Lillian went over her report for January 2022. Vi. Guest Presenter: Ali Jacobs from Mill City Grow on zoom. Some issues that she discussed from their Community Food Assessment were healthy food access, demographics of the area, SNAP benefits, food values, and affordability for purchasing fresh foods. Board Member, Molyka Tieng and guest, John King mentioned that fresh food had been received for five months consecutively at a Lowell Housing Authority property. VII. Committee Reports: Andy reported that discussions related to Outreach and Healthy Aging will be discussed at full Council on Aging Board meetings. a. Outreach b. HAC VIII. Items for Discussion a. Old Business By Laws: Discussion of which month to elect officers. The month of October was agreed to elect officers. The motion to accept was first by Anne Marie, second by Judy, all were in favor. By- Laws Amendment will be reviewed at a special session after the Feb. 14 meeting. b. New Business: Joyce Dastou needs to get her membership renewed by the LCOA. Anne Marie said to contact the H.R.
