Lowell Cultural Council Meeting Minutes September 26, 2023 Attending: Erin Duffey (Administrator); Rona Gofstein; Beth Noel; Kshitij Karke (KK); Beth Welch; Meghan Stebbins; The meeting was called to order at 6:45 PM. 1. 1. LCC Grant review 1. 4-23, 14-23 done 2. Review of Public Art Applications are all set 3. Erin participated in the mosaics grant writing workshop 1. Venue letter: the council is just looking for confirmation from the venue about being able to host any sort of event 2. 14 people on the workshop 3. Lots of individual artists were on 4. 4 award periods for $1K upfront (mosaic), we can push this to the bottom 80% of grants that we fund 4. LTC interview went well 1. It will be subtitled and translated 2. It will be shared on social media 3. A pitch for more board members was made 5. Tomorrow is the meeting with the city accountant to award the money for the next grant cycle 6. Next step is to get the mailing list, and send them an email about the cycle opening 1. LTC will put a graphic up 2. Oct 17th 7. 5-minute read for the Lowell sun 8. Western Ave Studios, mosaic has a newsletter list as well 9. Erin is out from the 5th to the 18th Oct 10. When we meet in October we can screen out those who don’t qualify, any questions can be sent out the next morning The meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM. END
