Hunger and Homeless Commission AGENDA – June 5, 2024 Time Speaker/Topic 12:00pm Dan O’Connor, Acting Chairperson, Welcome/Introduction of Speakers The Greater Lowell Health Alliance (GLHA) -- will be announcing/discussing a Community Health Fair (6/8), Greater Lowell Pride Day (6/15) and upcoming grant opportunities. The Eliot Day Center -- will be announcing/discussing the Health Care Block Party (6/14) for the City's individual homeless population and the Center's planned programming initiatives. The African Community Center of Lowell (ACCL) -- will be announcing/discussing Lowell's World Refugee Day Celebration (6/22) and the ACCL's recently released "Guide Book for Newcomers to Lowell." The African Cultural Association (ACC) of Lowell -- will be announcing/discuss House of Hope Housing -- will be providing a status update on its supportive housing building project for families residing in family shelter. Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) -- will be providing a quick summary of the "At Home in Greater Lowell" strategies summit held on 6/4. Department of Mental Health (DMH) -- will be discussing the Behavioral Help Hot Line (BHHL) with a focus on community outreach. VINFEN -- will be introducing its Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) services. ACE Center for New Americans -- will briefly introduce its organization and its mission. Community Teamwork Inc (CTI) -- will be providing a status update on its Hotel Program. 1:00pm Open Discussion - Notices and updates from service provider agencies are welcomed Commission Business: Election of Officers, Summer Recess, Formation of Subcommittees 1:15 and return to in-person meetings. 1:30pm Dan O’Connor, Acting Chairperson, Adjourn NOTE: HHC MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
